A Need for New Solutions
Over the years many patients have looked in vain to the field of plastic surgery for solutions to their skin problems. People with facial scars, burn victims, people with vitiligo, couperose or other skin disorders have often come as a last resort to the Micro-Pigmentation Centre in the hope that cosmetic tattooing would be a possible solution.

Coverderm
In its search for a successful medical make-up, the Micro-Pigmentation Centre tested many products for use as a surface camouflage make-up but without much success. Products had a cake effect or were chalky and obvious. They would run if you perspired, got caught in the rain or went in a swimming pool. Some offered "Water Resistant" but none offered "Waterproof" which was the specific problem the company was looking to address.

A well-timed visit to Italy and several meetings with the principals of Farmeco Co. a worldwide manufacturer of advanced cosmeceuticals and dermocosmetics brought about an agreement to market and distribute Coverderm, a high quality line of camouflage make-up. Coverderm is a product that complements all aspects of the company’s business.

Manufactured in Athens and available exclusively in North America, Coverderm addresses the many issues of the cosmetic surgeon's dilemma. Completely Waterproof, Hypoallergenic, Non-Comedogenic and with an SPF of up to 20, Coverderm offers Medical Clinics the solution for two problems. First, for those who in the past could not be helped, there is now an option. Secondly, after a traumatic event such as surgery, patients can have peace of mind. Coverderm is ideal for post op bruising or post laser redness. Coverderm is marketed solely through Medical Clinics and select quality Spas and Salons.

The Signature Series
The Micro-Pigmentation Centre is heavily involved with the Society of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgeons. Specific pigment colors have been developed for both fields. The Camouflage Series of skin colors for Cosmetic Surgeons is used to mask partially visible scars in the hairline. The Areola Series is available for Reconstructive Surgeons who do breast restoration after a mastectomy.

The "Drever"
In the early years of the Micro-Pigmentation Centre an association with one particular doctor proved to be of mutual benefit. Working with Doctor Michael Drever, an internationally renowned plastic surgeon and creator of the "tram flap" procedure for breast reconstruction, the company developed a specific needle grouping to be used in surgical machines in the operating room. At his request, Pat Gauthier has consulted with him in the O.R. on areola tattooing using the tattoo machine, a procedure that he previously did by placing a smear of pigment under the skin during the operation. In his honor the company named the needles ""The Drever."

The Digital 600 and the Intelligent Machine
Both the Nouveau Contour Intelligent machine and the Digital 600 are equipped and controlled with an Intel microprocessor "chip". The Nouveau Contour Intelligent offer advanced features that allow the practitioner to select pre-programmed settings for various medical procedures. The Intelligent consistently calculates the best needle frequency (speed) needed to achieve optimal pigment retention despite resistance of the skin. When resistance of the skin occurs, the control unit of the Intelligent will up modulate or down modulate the power and needle frequency so that the rate of needle punctures per second remains constant.

The features of the Intelligent Machine are:

  • High power for cosmetic and medical procedures
  • Individual program settings for each area of application
  • Automatic needle frequency adjustment
  • Maximum needle speed of 180 insertions per second
  • Consistent needle frequency despite resistance of skin
  • Minimal trauma to the skin: all needle punctures are consistent
  • Excellent results in less time
  • Liquid Crystal Display
  • Can be used with or without foot pedal.
  • 3 year warranty
